Okay, so life is good.

bebe started a preschool class for 10 weeks that's taught by the kids at high school in a child development class.  she absolutely loves it!  it's monday, wednesday, and fridays from 9-11:15

mimi is doing great in kindergarten.  she is learning to read and write.  the other day she sounded out the names of everyone in our family and wrote them all down for us (even our new foster son's name).  she wan't 100% on the spelling but she put in some good effort.  it's the first time she's tried to write something without it being a homework assignment.

ice is the newest member of our family and we are so happy to have him for as long as he's here.  he entered our home through foster care and we are very impressed with him.  it took the girls a couple days to warm up to the new boy in the home, but they are super excited about him now.

beard is happy to have another man in the house to hang with (ice is 16).

have a loverly night!  (our camera seems to be broken, so here's a family pic for you to view from last november)

Our Girls!

We love these kids!!!
these pictures were taken at the grandparents over christmas break.  the girls are in some dresses from grandma.

Tonight Mimi made an obstacle course...
- Count blocks- do math by taking or adding away and saying what the math problem is.
- knock over a box of toys with a broom
- pick up the toys and put them back in the box
- spin the top
- say your middle name to get past the "gate"
- run to the table

That girl has always been so creative!  I love it!

And this morning, Bebe was playing the part of Mimi's mom, a dog, and Mimi was her little puppy.  She helped her learn how to walk and helped her get into her dog high chair, etc.

I love when these girls play together.  it's so fun to listen and observe the converstations.  There's a lot of magic that happens when they are left their imaginations for a while.

here's me with my morning dooooo. it's funny to me that i wake up looking like this. sometimes i leave it this way if i don't have anywhere to go. but usually i prefer the comb over altenative, or a hat, or a bandana as a last resort. take note of the green kitchen in the background and the yellow living room (it looks more orange in this pic than it really is). i love my house, especially now that we're done painting. next week i might suprise you with a tour of the house. how bout that?!

here's bebe. she wanted to "sleep" in this tote. she want her blanket just so and the pillow just so, and the animals just so, and her sippy cup just so, and soon after the picture was taken, she wanted a bunch of books to be tucked into the side. and she was so ready to smile and say cheese when i came over with the camera. mimi was at school and bebe wanted to watch a moo moo (movie) and this is how she watched a bit of pbs kids.

that's all the pics i took this week. i've been trying to organize my house so that everything has a place. i've given myself the deadline of dec 15. whatever does not have a definite organized place by then will be tossed or donated.

beard is an awesome husband and i love him so much!
mimi is a fun girl and i love her imagination. she keeps making stores all over the house that she wants us to buy stuff from. thankfully she supplies us with the money so that we can pay up for the goods.

last saturday we had a friend take some photos of our family. it was a lot of fun! if you haven't seen them yet, please contact me via facebook/email and i'll give you the link :)

until next week, take care world out there!

we are still here

life is a little busy sometimes.  and sometimes blogs don't get any attention.  but other things do.  we've been giving our attention to other things besides blogs.  please forgive :)

since we've been gone from the blog...

- bebe turned 2 in july
- we began doing foster care
- first we started by doing respite on the weekends
- mimi started kindergarten
- then we got our first foster care placement
- we registered our foster daughter in high school
- we purchased and moved into our first home at the end of september
- our first foster child was with us from the end of august to almost the end of october
- we thought she would be with us longer, but she wasn't

- we are taking a break from new placements until after christmas
- we are getting settled in our new home

here's some pictures!!!

family picture after church- didn't bring the pug to church, but i think beard came back to get us after he took desi home.

desi loves fishing.  we tried to take her a couple times despite the fact that we are not accustomed to fishing.  mimi and bebe loved it so maybe we'll take it up more seriously next summer.

desi decided to style our hair one evening.  it was good times.
mimi and desi were trying to catch a cricket.  they'd almost gotten it in their hands when bebe stood up, walked over to that bug and smashed it with her foot.  she was very proud and declared "i mash bug!"
i got to hold a baby goat! the kids like petting it but there are no pictures of them doing it, so here i am :)

 look at that goat!!!
 goats are fascinating...

well, there you have it!  some pictures and an update.  what more could anyone want from us?!

we will try to be much more consistent with the blog.  my goal will be every sunday evening whenever possible.

thanks for reading!

The 4th and a Little More

The first three pictures were taken at the Wilmore, KY 4th of July parade.  The family with us are friends of ours from church.  The 4th was great, we attended a nice little parade in Wilmore and then ate 20 cent hotdogs at the at the festival.  Later in the day we went to a BBQ at a friend's house where the girls played with friends.  That night we set off fire works, real ones that went into the sky and not the little ground ones.  The last three pictures are just from around the house.

there and back again, a wobit's tale

we went to visit my sissy and her hubby last week for her boy's 5th b-day.  we stayed in style in a 3 bedroom hotel overlooking the beach.  my bro and his gf traveled out there to vactation it up too.  much fun was had.  myrtle beach is a fun place to go, no questions asked.

bibi loved her time in the "osho"

i had such a great time seeing my sissy

b-day boy is a mermaid in the sand

me and my girls

bro and his girl.  they both tried crab for the first time.  how adventurous!

so, since he was the birthday boy, he was forced to ride a pony all the way around joe's crab shack while happy birthday was sung to him.  he was so dang embarassed and mad.  it was hilarious!  but he did get a cool balloon hat out of it (don't have a pic though)

who knew that a boogie board would get mimi in the water?  she never wants anything to do with the water, but this did it :)

don't mind my face. just look at how happy mimi is IN THE WATER!!! (didn't catch any pics of her riding the waves on the boogie board but she did it and loved it)

this boy had no fear.  even loved the biffs.

bibi yearned to be in the water at all times.

beard took this pic.

um.  he a had a good time doing this and many other random things.
